Fort Yargo

Today Jaime and I took the kids to the beach at Fort Yargo. We've been talking about going for a while, so we made plans to go today. It was our first time there, and I'm really glad that we went. I've only been to beaches on the ocean before, and never to one on a lake. I was afraid I'd be disappointed, but I wasn't disappointed at all! Yes, it was definitely different that what I had been to before, but it was still a lot of fun. Plus, I enjoy myself when I see that my kids are enjoying theirselves. If they're having fun, then I'm having fun too.

Fort Yargo Beach

At first Aiden wasn't too sure about the water, but he ended up really liking it (as long as his feet could touch the bottom)!

Jenny loved every minute of it, and wanted to go out in the water as deep as possible.

Playing in the sand.

Jaime buried Jenny in the sand.

The picture on the left is of Jenny three years ago at Panama City Beach, she was 2 years old. The picture on the right is from today, she almost 5 (she'll be 5 August 30th).

After we came home we all had to take showers and baths to get all of the sand off our skin. The kids were very tired from their day in the sun and sand (especially Aiden) so they both went to bed early tonight. We had a really great day at the beach, and Jenny is already asking me when we will go back. Ha! We'll definitely have to go back soon!

Happy Birthday, Grandma!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GRANDMA!!

We love you!

Food+Family+Fireworks= A Good 4th of July!

This year for the Fourth of July we decided not to go to the firework shows that are put on by the city, but instead we chose to spend the evening at home as a family. After Jaime came home from work, he and I cooked steaks and italian sausage on the grill with baked potatoes, corn on the cob, baked beans, and a spinach salad. It was excellent, if I do say so myself. =)

While we cooked Aiden and Jenny played in the inflateable pool in our backyard. They splashed more water out of the pool than I've ever seen before, especially Jenny! She was trying so hard to swim and show us what she had learned at swimming lessons, that she splashed a lot of water out of the pool. Eventually I had to bring out some plastic cups of different sizes and a few strainers for them to play with so they would stop splashing so much. They had a great time, and didn't even want to get out to eat.

Jenny's swimming!

After we finished eating, we headed over to my cousin Vickie's house to swim in their inground pool and to watch them shoot off fireworks. It was a lot of fun, and I'm so glad we were able to at least see a few fireworks on Independence Day.

After we came home from their house, we put Aiden to bed (he was SUPER crabby) and Jenny, Jaime, and I made ice cream sundaes. They turned out really well, but Jenny needs more practice. She was a little slow with putting on the toppings so the ice cream was pretty melty by the time we ate them. They still tasted great though!

We had a great 4th of July, and we hope that you did too! We are really trying to enjoy our summer, especially with Jenny being in school now. Once school starts back, our time with her will be more limited, and we want to make sure we are soaking up every minute of time with her and Aiden. My babies are growing up faster than I can think, and we want to make sure we're taking advantage of every minute. Years from now there will be a Fourth of July where they want to go to their friends houses or to their boyfriend/girlfriend's houses. So for now, we are going to have plenty of fun with them while they still think we are "cool" enough to be around! Ha!

Pickles, Pickles, Pickles

A few days ago at lunch time Aiden had some oven roasted turkey breast, a piece of american cheese, a fairly big handful of blueberries, and a pickle. In case you didn't already know, Aiden loves pickles (he gets that from his Mama)! He ate most of his other food and just kept putting the pickle in his mouth but not actually eating it. A few minutes later I looked over, and this is what I saw.....

HAHAHAHA!!! So cute!

19 Months Old!

*This post is a few days late. Aiden actually turned 19 months old on June 29th.

Dear Aiden,

You are now 19 months old. Every month when I write on this blog about you being another month older, I can't ever believe how quickly you're growing up. When I was pregnant, everyone used to always tell me that time goes by so much faster after you have a kid. Let me just say that they were SO right! These last 19 months with you have been the fastest 19 months of my life! You have changed my life in so many countless ways, but I wouldn't change a minute of it for the world. Your Daddy and I love you very much, and we will continue loving you every minute of everyday forever.  "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, as long as I'm living my baby you'll be."

-Daddy & Mama

Blogging Silence For Cohen

Today I am participating in a day of blogging silence for Megan and Brent, in honor of their son Cohen, who is being buried today. Please pray for Megan and Brent, as losing a child is something that no parent ever wants to endure. Please pray for the peace that only God can give them. You can find Cohen's story, information about this day of silence, and how to link up and do the same at Send Love to Cohen.
