Watermarking

You may have noticed that I have started watermarking some of the pictures I put on my blog. I have seen a lot of other blogs doing this, and I think it is a great idea!

I hate that I have to put the watermark across the center of the picture, but if I put it on an edge, it could easily be cropped off.

No, I have not had a bad experience with anyone stealing my pictures, I just want to be on the safe side just in case. I also plan on adding watermarks to all of the pictures previously posted on here, but that may take me a while. It is easy to do, but it does take a few minutes for each picture, and I have over 500 pictures on here. Obviously I will have to do a little at a time. :)

I use Picnik to watermark my pictures. If you are interested in watermarking your pictures, here is how I do it:

Upload the picture onto Picnik, or if you've already done so, go to your library.

Next, click Edit Photo.

From this page you can crop, resize, or adjust colors.

Next, click Create and then Text.

Add your blog name or URL to the box and click Add.

After you have done this, you can change the way the text looks. I change mine from "Normal" to "Overlay" so that it is more transparent and the picture can still be seen pretty well.

When you're done, click Save and Share to save it to your computer. Then, upload it to your blog! It's that simple.

Picnik is free, but if you want a Premium Account you have to pay. I'm not sure how much it costs as I don't have one. There are tons of ways out there to watermark, this is just the way I do it. If you know of a way I can watermark lots of pictures all at once, please let me know! I'd love to be able to watermark faster and easier.

Also, look for the right-click function on my blog to be disabled soon as well. :)

I hope this helps some of you out there wanting to watermark! By the way, you can also watermark this way and upload your watermarked pictures to Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, etc.

Vacation Days 4-6

After the first three busy days of vacation, we took it pretty easy on the last few days. We slept in everyday, and just hung out and enjoyed each other's company.

We went to the mall and shopped and rode the quarter machines (which are actually 3 quarters now!)....

We hung out at the splash park with our cousins (aka best friends)....

We got our picture made with the Suwanee Dog....

We went to Chuck E. Cheese and invited a friend (aka cousin)....

We played with chalk and got it all over our face...(Well, Aiden did. I didn't. Haha.)....

We went swimming at the pool....

We had a great vacation!!

Vacation Day 3

For our vacation we had originally decided to go to a beach somewhere in Florida. We ended up changing our minds and decided to just stay home and use the money we would have spent on a hotel, to do extra fun stuff around here.

On day three, we packed a lunch and headed to the beach at Lake Lanier with my mom. The part of the beach we went to was called Sunset Cove. We got to the beach that day around 1:00pm and didn't end up leaving until close to 11:00pm that night.

Ice cream faces!

Jaime and I jumped off that boat dock. Jenny wanted to jump too, but the water was too deep. Maybe next year (or six years from now) if she's a better swimmer! :)

After we hung out at the beach for a few hours, we bought tickets for the water park. We went down several slides, in the wave pool, and in a kiddie pool that was just the right size for Aiden. Afterwards, we went and ate at the italian restaurant inside the park.

Jenny and Jaime coming off the water slide (in the yellow raft).

Jaime, Jenny, and I rode both of these slides. Jenny liked the blue one the best - she said it was faster!

The restaurant we ate at.

Aiden when we sat down at dinner. He was CRABBY!

Aiden after the pizza came. All better!

My sillies being silly at dinner. Love them!!

Aiden, Grandma, and Jenny

Out of all of the different things we did on our vacation, this was my favorite. Jenny says this was her favorite thing too! I was really surprised that she liked the water slides so much. She usually scares pretty easily, so I didn't expect her to like them. She surprised me! She was even riding slides two and three times that I would only ride once. Haha! Her favorite slide was the one that I wouldn't get back on. Now that we know she likes water slides, we will have to try White Water soon! She also really liked the wave pool (that I didn't get a picture of). Aiden was too little to ride the slides, but he got in the wave pool and the kiddie pool (that I also didn't get a picture of). He wasn't too sure about the wave pool, but he liked the kiddie pool. It was just his size!

We hope to go back to the beach at Lake Lanier soon!

Vacation Day 2: Fishing

After we got home from the Zoo, we waited a couple hours for it to cool off a little outside and then we headed to do something that Jenny has been asking for MONTHS to do....

FISHING!

Yep, that's right. Our sweet, little 5 year old girl wanted to go fish. I'm pretty sure that was not something I wanted to do when I was 5. In fact, I have never been fishing nor have I ever had any desire to do so. But, Jenny wanted to do it, so we figured we could at least try it out.

Apparently Jenny had big plans for the fish we were going to catch. She even told me that after we caught them, all we had to do was bring them home, take their skin off, and cook them on the stove. I quickly told her that we were not bringing home anything we caught. Silly girl!

Luckily, there is a family fishing place a few miles from our house. You don't have to have a liscence to fish there, they sell bait, and you can rent fishing poles too.

We parked back by the pond and preceeded to get started. Did I mention that none of us had ever done this before? Haha. First things first - we opened our bucket of Nightcrawlers (aka: worms).

This picture cracks me up! They were watching Jaime put a worm on the hook. Jenny looks totally disgusted, and Aiden looks like he has never seen anything so cool. Haha.

Ok, so now we had our worms on the hooks. Next up: casting the line. Seem easy, right? Wrong! For some reason, we had the hardest time doing it. I think the problem was that we were holding down the button on the fishing pole rather than pressing it and then releasing it. Oops! Oh well, eventually we figured it out.  :)

Aiden and Grandma fishing on the bridge.

Funny story: Jenny wanted to try putting her own worm on the hook. So I opened the worm bucket for her to let her get one out. I'm not sure if she thought the worms were fake or if they were dead or what, but she definitely didn't think they were alive and moving. It took her a while to get one out because they were pretty slippery. Once she gets one out, and holds it up proudly because she got it out all by herself, the worm starts to wiggle. Jenny jumps, screams LOUDLY, and throws the worm! It was literally the funniest moment of the week. My mom and I laughed so hard we cried! Jenny didn't think it was too funny at first, but eventually even she laughed about it.

We were there for about two hours, but we didn't catch anything. There was a guy there who told us he had been there for three or four hours and he had old caught two fish. He let us look at the ones he had already caught so the kids could see what the fish actually looked like. They looked pretty gross if you ask me.

After posting these pictures on Facebook, a friend of mine commented on them and said they reminded her of the Trace Adkins song, "Just Fishin'". I looked it up on YouTube, and thought I would share the video with all of you on here.

Vacation Day 2

On our second day of vacation we went with my parents to Zoo Atlanta. The last time we were there Aiden was about 5 months old, and hadn't even started school yet. I'm really glad we went, because Aiden and Jenny both really liked it! We were there for several hours, and it was HOT - but they didn't complain. We brought the stroller for Aiden but he ended up walking the whole time, so we mostly used it for storage and cup holders. Haha!

They weren't real sure about sitting by this gorilla to get their picture taken. Haha!

We rode this train - riding the train was Aiden's favorite part. Haha!

Petting Zoo fun :)

We had a great time at the Zoo!
