Happy Memorial Day!

I just wanted to take the time to wish you all a very happy Memorial Day!

Also, here is a little Memorial Day reminder:

As we celebrate this Memorial Day, let us not forget what today is really all about. Don't forget to give thanks to our Armed Forces and their families for what they have done and continue to do for us so that we can live in a free country. Also don't forget to say a little Prayer for all of the soliders who have lost ...their lives fighting for our freedom and for their families who's loved ones never made it home.

Have a safe and happy Memorial Day!

Our Weekend

This weekend was a pretty busy one for our family. We had a lot of fun! Friday night we did our usual dinner with Grandma and Grandpa. This week we went to Poblanos, which is one of my favorites. My brother Billy also went with us this time. Afterwards we went back to my Mom's house and my Dad built a fire in the backyard. It started to rain, so we all had to go inside. Luckily the rain didn't last long, and we were able to go back outside for a while. But this time, instead of sitting around the fire, we went out in the yard and tried to catch Lightning Bugs! I've been telling Jenny for a while now that once it got warm enough for them to come out that I would try to catch some with her. We had a pretty hard time catching them though. It seemed like when we started getting closer to where they were, they would all migrate to the backyard. Then once we would go to the backyard, they all moved to the front yard. Ha! Needless to say, we didn't catch any that night.

On Saturday we went to Walmart with Grandma and got a few things for my cousin Jacob for his birthday. Of course Aiden and Jenny also each came home with something new! Jenny got a toy puppy, and Aiden got a toy guitar. They are both so lucky to have their Grandma/Ninnie! When we got back to my Mom's, my Dad cooked hamburgers, italian sauage, and hot dogs on the grill. After we ate we went to Jacob's birthday party. He turned 3 today! Yesterday was also my other cousin Peyton's 2nd birthday! Happy Birthday to both of you! Here are a few pictures from our Saturday....

Happy Birthday Jacob!

Our rock band. Apparently they are a heavy metal band. =)

Jenny modeled for me a little bit.

And Aiden was too tired from the party and the rock band to model for me.

Today (Sunday), we went to a water park in Suwanee with my cousins. It's not exactly a water park with slides and a pool, but it has lots of sprinklers. Plus, it's FREE! That's my favorite kind of water park. =) Jenny had a blast, except for when she went through this biggest sprinkler in the middle. Aiden hated every minute of it, and cried almost the entire time we were there. I couldn't even get him to look at the water! He must have gotten that from his Daddy, because I can always remember LOVING the water when I was young!

Like I said, Jenny had a blast....

and Aiden hated it!

I had to wrap Aiden in a towel to keep him from crying. Everytime the water touched him, he would scream!

We had a great weekend, and we hope you did too! I hope you all have a great Memorial Day! Please remember what tomorrow is really all about, and why we celebrate it. I can't thank our Soldiers and their families enough for what they do everyday for us. It is an honor to live in such a great country!

Baking with the Kids

Tonight Aiden, Jenny, and I baked a cake. Jenny and I have baked several times before, but this was Aiden's first time to get to help. There wasn't a whole lot he could help with, but he enjoyed watching and getting to lick the spoon afterwards. Here are are few pictures of our baking night...

Helping Aiden pour in the water.

Jenny cracked the eggs, that's her favorite part.

Jenny kept trying to explain to Aiden what baking is all about.

Baking with Jenny has always been one of my favorite times with her, and I'm so happy to be able to start involving Aiden in it now too. Although I guess that means that he is getting older. =( We let the cake be a surprise for Jaime from the kids and I. It turned out really well, and tasted good too!

*Sorry about the quality of these pictures, my good camera was charging so I had to use my phone.

18 Months Old

Dear Aiden,

Today you are 18 months old. Wow, I can't believe it! It seems like I just brought you home from the hospital a few months ago, but instead you are running all over the place and starting to talk up a storm! You definitely keep Daddy and I on our toes! We are always running to catch you or to keep up with you! We are also really having to watch what we say now in front of you, because you are like a parrot trying to repeat everything we say! You have changed our lives in so many ways, and we are so thankful for you! Our lives have definitely not been the same since you were born, but I wouldn't change any of it if I could. People are always complimenting you and how cute you are. When they say those things I want to tell them that I already know that, but instead I just say thank you. You are an amazing little boy, and I can't wait to see how you will change between now and the time you are two! We love you Aiden!

Daddy and Mommy

My sweet baby one year ago today.

He was just learning to crawl, and couldn't even sit up yet.

He is so active now!

I can't believe how much he's changed in the last year!

  • You LOVE to dance!
  • You love being outside and playing at the park
  • You don't like to have your picture made, you won't sit still
  • You love taking a bath!

Pictures in the Park

Yesterday, Jaime and I thought it would be a good idea to dress up the kids and take them to the park to try and get a few pictures of them. So, we got them all dressed and ready to go, and we headed to the park. We went to an area of the park that has a grassy field area and a pond. There are also a few ducks and geese in that area too.
When we first got there we thought it would be a good idea to try and get a few pictures with the water in the background. Apparently Aiden thought it was a good idea to walk right into the water. However, before he could make it out into the water, he fell into the MUD! He was covered from head to toe in mud. I was too busy trying to keep him from getting mud on Jenny that I didn't even think to take a picture of his muddy mess. All I can say is that we had to use TONS of wipes, and change his clothes.
Needless to say, we didn't try to get a whole lot of pictures of Aiden after that. Jaime took him over to the playground and I tried to get a few good pictures of Jenny.
According to the memory card, we took over 200 pictures at the park yesterday. I couldn't believe that we took so many! It definitely didn't seem like we did. Out of the 200+ pictures, there are about 10-15 that I really like. Here are a few of them....

I haven't done any editing to these photos yet, so they aren't quite finished. I am going to do some editing hopefully sometime this weekend.

Have A Great Weekend!!

We Officially Have A Kindergartener!!

Yesterday was Jenny's last day of Pre-K. Which means, she is officially a Kindergartener!! Woo-hoo! I couldn't be more proud of her. She has done so well this past year in Pre-K, and I pray that she will continue to do well.

This last week at Pre-K only lasted 3 days, but all 3 days were filled with lots of fun activities. Monday was Jenny's Field Day. They played outside all day, and she even won a First Place Medal for the Sack Race. She also brought home her 'Pony Pictures' which I will scan and post sometime this week.
Tuesday was her class' Water Day. She had to wear her bathing suit to school underneath her clothes. She had a lot of fun, and apparently she got very wet! Ha! She also came home with a 'Foot Book' that had all of the footprints of her classmates in it. Wednesday was the last day of school and it was also Pajama Day. She had to wear her pajamas to school and also bring in her favorite book. She chose to bring in a book called "Bisquit". Thank you Ninnie for providing Jenny with her favorite book! =) It's actually a really cute book, and a great read for children who are learning to read. Jenny can already read most of it on her own! Wednesday she brought home a lot of the work she's made throughout the school year that they had on the walls in the classroom. There were also a few printed pictures and some quotes of the things Jenny said throughout the school year. My favorite thing she brought home was the CD filled with pictures of her school year. It was great to get a sneak peek at all of the things she did at school this year.

The 'Foot Book' she brought home on Tuesday.

The quotes from the observent things Jenny said in Pre-K.

Dear Jenny,

Daddy and I are sooooo proud of you!! It seems like just yesterday that you were Aiden's age, and now look at you! You've become such a big girl, and a great big sister. You are constantly amazing us with your intelligence, and making us laugh. My favorite times with you are the ones that you and I share together watching movies or baking deserts. But I also love the times with you, Aiden, and Daddy - when you make us laugh until we cry! You definitely have your Daddy's sense of humor, not to mention you look JUST like him!
We can't wait to see how well you'll do in Kindergarten. I've told you a thousand times already that I won't let you go to Kindergarten if I feel like you're not ready. So, along with you going to Pre-K, Daddy and I have tried our hardest to prepare you for Kindergarten. Of course, we can't prepare you for everything - sometimes you'll have to learn on your own. But, I know that you are ready. I know that you are a very smart little girl, with a great smile. Everyone you meet always talks about how pretty you are, and they are SO right! Never doubt yourself or who you are. Know that you are beautiful, and that you can do anything if you set your mind to it. We are so proud of you, you are truly a Blessing from God. We love you!!
